Naka
Hold a key, speak, and hear her answer in under a second. Speech recognition, the language model and the voice all run on your own Windows PC, so nothing crosses the internet and it keeps working offline. She is meant to be someone rather than something: an editable persona, a voice with its own character, and a memory of what matters to you.
what it does
- Push to talk from anywhere, even in a game; she starts speaking 0.5 to 0.8 s after you stop.
- Remembers facts about you and every past conversation, and you can read and edit that memory.
- Timers, reminders, notes, your clipboard and your documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint).
- Opens apps and games by name, and plugs into other tools through MCP servers.
- Steps off the GPU after a minute of silence so games get it back.
log
- Naka v0.1.0: a first installer for the local voice assistant.
- Started Naka v2: the voice assistant leaves the Raspberry Pi and the cloud to run fully on the GPU.
